spills are spells that don't trust the distance
2021/2022
spills are spells that don’t trust the distance explores relationships between images, touch and space. How can the gap become a medium for connection? Let’s assume that space is never empty but a pool of experiences and that experiences are landscapes (inviting you to look, to touch or to breath in). Look at the landscape between the movements, the sounds, the words, between us. What you are looking at is already inside you. You spilled it.

This work is based on a physical practice that links somatic experience with imagination. It is an ongoing investigation on how language moves a body, imagery moves language, how images move through the body. What kind of landscapes are created through all these movements?

A spill is created in collaboration with you and the atmosphere. When it works the gaps become conductive material for uncontrollable imagination. Spills flow forwards, even when they appear backwards, spills recalibrate bodies and their atmospheres, spills hydrate dry landscapes of connective tissue, spills can make a human appear as a mountain, spills can make you feel safe in slippery space, spills can be found in the moments you didn't feel time passed, spills make shapes dissolve, spills can be found when you thought you watched a dance solo. Spills might make you remember a touch but not how you got there.
